Live Music Project Welcomes New Board Members
We recently welcomed four new board members to our Board of Directors. As a nonprofit, we rely on our volunteer board to serve as ambassadors for LMP’s work and guide LMP strategically into the future. Our board members are kickass visionaries and enthusiastic advocates of early music, classical, and contemporary classical music — and honestly, for music and creativity overall! We are thrilled to work with these fantastic humans who share our values, contribute mightily to our community, and embody inclusive leadership.
With that, we are excited to introduce our new board members:⠀
Hester Qiang, Los Angeles, CA
Graduated MFA in Arts Leadership at Seattle University, Hester is an international arts administrator with experience from both business and arts in the U.S. and China. After 7+ years of working with arts organizations, her skills focus on building creative and branding strategies, communications, and digital marketing consulting. Currently, Hester lives in Los Angeles and is active as a Graphic Designer + Photographer. She is also a Ph.D. candidate in Global Leadership and Change at Pepperdine University. Her research interests include organizational behaviors, arts and culture integrations in business, arts management, and digital marketing.

Rose Gear, Seattle, WA
Rose Gear is a bassist and arts leader based in Seattle, WA. A graduate of the Bolz Center for Arts Administration at University of Wisconsin — Madison, Rose most recently served as executive director of Cascade Symphony Orchestra, and has also enjoyed roles with Seattle Symphony, Madison Symphony and Wisconsin Union Theater. Rose believes strongly in the power of the arts to inspire empathy, critical thought, and tolerance in an increasingly divided and contentious world.
Lainie Fefferman, New York, NY
Lainie Fefferman makes music by putting dots on lines, drawing curves in software, writing code in boxes, and finding new ways to wiggle her vocal cords. Fefferman is a co-director of Exapno, a New Music Community Center in Downtown Brooklyn, a co-organizer of the New Music Gathering, a national new music event, and teaches in the Music & Technology Department of Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.
Leanna Keith, Seattle, WA
A freelance flutist, artist, improviser, and composer in the Seattle area, Leanna Keith (she/they) delights in creating sound experiences that make audiences laugh, cry, and say: “I didn’t know the flute could do that!” Her performance artworks have focused on cultural connection and the breaking of audience/performer boundaries. She is dedicated to playing music by composers who are still living, and advocates for the usage of music as social activism. Leanna is the professor of flute at Cornish College of the Arts.
